Hiding some of the specific posts from the homepage of your blogger blog might seem to be a repulsive act laying, but it does make sense on a few occasions according to your needs. This technique is essential for those who no longer wants to display a post or some posts that are appearing on their blog’s homepage.

Today in this article, we will show you how to hide specific posts from Blogger homepage.

How to Hide Specific Posts from Blogger Homepage?

Just follow the steps given below:

  1. Backup your blog’s template
  2. Then go to Templates >> Edit HTML
  3. After your blog’s template editor opened, click on “Jump to widget” drop-down list and then click on “Blog1” in the list. Expand it and look for the following code:
    <div class="date-outer">
  4. Now after finding it carefully replace the above code with the code given below:
    <div class="date-outer"
    <b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;index&quot;'>
    <b:if cond='data:blog.searchQuery == &quot;&quot;'>
    <b:if cond='data:blog.searchLabel == &quot;&quot;'>
    <b:if cond='data:post.url == &quot;POST-LINK-A&quot;'>style=&#39;display:none;&#39;</b:if>
    <b:if cond='data:post.url == &quot;POST-LINK-B&quot;'>style=&#39;display:none;&#39;</b:if>
    </b:if>
    </b:if>
    </b:if>
    &gt;

After pasting the above code, replace POST-LINK-A and POST-LINK-B with the URLs of the posts that you would like to hide from your homepage. You can hide more posts by using the same code just by adding more URLs in tag as above.

Done!

That’s all! Now you can check the change by visiting your blog’s homepage that your posts are successfully hidden or not.

    Hello, Firstly thanks for keeping this helpful blog.

    I followed the steps above very carefully and am continually receiving the following error message:
    Error parsing XML, line 243, column 12: Open quote is expected for attribute “{1}” associated with an element type “cond”.

    This is the information contained in the line 243:

    Any idea what I did wrong and how I can fix it?

          I am getting the same error too. Can you please explain what you meant by “the quotes given in the code is not a open and close quote so replace every quote by open quote again and it will work”? I am not a programmer.

      Hi,
      Thanks for your kind words 🙂

      The method to increase post excerpt length in blogger depends on template you are using. It’s JavaScript controlled. However you may look for “summaryLength” or “postsummary” (in most templates) and change its value. As far as I can see, current length of your post excerpt is 95, increase it as per your needs. If you still feel any difficulty then feel free to ask 🙂

    This was definitely one of the best and easiest codes I’ve found, thank you! This worked perfectly on my test blog, the only problem I have is that although the post is not there, there’s a small box in the area that the post should be. Almost like the border that goes around the entire post. Any idea on how I can delete this?
